Our Bureau has been serving the community in and around Dorchester for over 40 years. We currently have a staff of 41 volunteers and 15 paid employees who can give advice over the telephone, face to face in the Bureau, by a Home Visit, at one of our outreaches or by email.

We can advise on a full range of issues and problems and we are here to help during this very difficult economic climate. We are impartial, independent, confidential and FREE.

Our funding comes from a mixture of local authority and other sources of funding such as the Legal Services Commission, The Lottery, Wessex Water and donations from the public. No matter where our funding comes from we always remain fully independent and impartial as a registered charity.

During 2008 we had 13891 contacts with clients and dealt with 9703 new issues. We saw the percentage of our workload that dealt with debt issues rise from 15% in 2007 to over 30% in 2008.
